Flight lands at PBIA due to bird in engine on 14th anniversary of Miracle on the Hudson
JetBlue Flight 62 took off from Palm Beach International Airport around 11:04 a.m. Sunday with the destination of New York's LaGuardia Airport. However, the plane experienced what officials call a bird strike, forcing the crew to return to PBIA just minutes after. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, landed safely on the runway. Listened to a program in which Airbus commented about there flight system which did most of the work keeping it flying. A Boeing coming from South America I think lost both engines and did a dead stick onto a levy without any damage and much more challenging that the river. New engines were installed, AC was towed to a takeoff spot and flew out days later.
May 24, 1988 TACA International flight 110 Belize City to New Orleans, 737-300. Double flameout, landed on a grass-covered levee.
