Ameriflight Has Ordered 20 Autonomous Cargo Planes From Natilus
Up-and-coming aircraft manufacturer Natilus announced on Friday, January 26th, that it had signed a deal with cargo carrier Ameriflight. The charter airline agreed to purchase 20 of the manufacturer's smallest feeder aircraft making it the first US regional carrier to sign a purchase order agreement with Natilus. The airline plans to use these remotely piloted aircraft to enhance operational efficiency while combating the ongoing pilot shortage. on this topic i am a skeptic, albeit an informed one perhaps. What can go wrong with looseing 20 autonomous cargo aircraft into planetary skies? make your own list up. i have mine....
This Natilus autonomous aircraft has a long way to go before it’s certified and operational. Insurance costs - liability, hull loss, loss of cargo - are likely to start off very high, without any operational experience to quantify risk. I’m not holding my breath waiting for this aircraft concept to succeed.

Oh gee its like that eclectic airliner, oh forgot just a test plane now. Suddenly its nothing more than some way to bilk money from investors.
