United Airlines Nears Leasing Deal for 36 Airbus A321neo Jets Amid Boeing 737-10 Uncertainties

Enviado

United Airlines is on the verge of leasing over thirty-six Airbus A321neo jets, as per Bloomberg News, leveraging sources familiar with the discussions. The move comes as United seeks alternatives to the yet-to-be-certified Boeing MAX 10 aircraft, initially anticipated to become a fleet mainstay this year. (www.airguide.info) Más...

Definitely will be a big blow to Boeing. But hey, business is business. Good for both Airbus and United

Nice plane also. No major design flaws compensated with software that I know of.

The 737 Max is a redesign of the old 737m As little as possible changes on the overall geometry were intended. However weight an position of the new engines shifted the CG to close or behind the CoL. That makes a plane unstable. Unless you design a fighter this is a design flaw, I'd consider it a non forgiveable error.

wtf are you talking about. EVERYTHiNG is run by software. They did everything(tried) to compensate for the big engines on an old plane that wasn't designed for these engines.ever. They pulled out some tricks in software to compensate. and failed.

Everything is run by software? Totally agree!

Many of Airbus's past issues did come to light thou. EG the 2015 directive involving the A400M but still lead to a fatal accident involving the craft..

If you are referring to AF447, it wasn't software..it was weather and confusion.

Not Surprised At All. There are Many American Carriers Beginning to Turn Their Backs Away From Boeing .

Korean Airlines Are Ordering Aircraft’s From AirBus as well .

The Big Question is: What Is This Thing That Airbus Doing Differently ?

Airbus is booked until 2030. Maybe if Boeing gets its act together, it can get the 737-10 certified relatively soon. Oh yes, and change its focus to quality control vs. quick profits.

Let's first investigate the murder they committed before we care what Boeing does next.

The problem isn't just Boeing. It's also United. Maintenance with United is absolutely garbage. It should have been self-evident by now given the half a dozen major issues that United aircraft had. US carriers are a joke.

So, it seems like a lot of "errors" occurring for Boeing lately. With all of these other airlines giving up on Boeing and switching to AirBus, is causing me to wonder if it's bad business/engineering at Boeing, or a planned "switch" to planes only made by the European giant? Just seems like a lot all at once.
BillOverdue
Bill Overdue -5
Not sure if it was a planned switch or not, I doubt it, but it was a deliberate change in workforce processes and people! It's called DEI, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion! I'm sure you've heard of it! It's destroying America from the inside out.

I Personally do not like to Engage in futile arguments with Others , However At Times we Must Respond and Make our Thoughts Clear.

Believe me , no one Will learn anything from These Words.

These Words Are irrelevant And Realistic.

Your Respectful Engagement with Members one this site is Away “ Overdue “ And has “ Nothing to do with Aviation The Topic Discussed or Boeing issue.

“ What Would I call it ?”

That is the most irrelevant And Idiotic Comment I’ve ever heard.

I Quote:

I'm not familiar with this publication but the article read as if it was written by AI (e.g., "Kirby ... expressed caution about the cost, emphasizing the importance of not overpaying"). Anyone know?

How about some quality control.?

Both United and Boeing need new management. If they want to survive, recruitment needs to be based only on qualifications and experience not on DEI quotas or criteria.

Not one ahred of evidence has been presented that any of Boeing's or United's problems are related to DEI. You don't have any evidence yourself, all you have are your own biases and your itch to write about them with pride.
BillOverdue
Bill Overdue -4
... and they never will! It's called covering your azz! And yet, I predict things much worse are in store for Boeing. Has nothing to do with "pride or biases".. it's about safety, over equality and skin color! Those should NEVER come before safety, EVER!

It's called common sense! When a program is implemented that states, "a % of our workforce will be "minorities", without saying they are subjected to the same intelligence requirements as Causicans.. and "things, accidents " start happening on a regular basis, what would you call it?

I thought the same thing. This guy would fit right in with my bigoted neighbors here in Texas.

Hmm, since Causicans aren't included in minorities, who do you think they would be working with, without the same aptitude and skill-sets, as they clearly state these arent requirements, just be a minority? C'mon try and stay up?
