Southwest Reportedly in Talks to Take Boeing "White Tail" 737 MAX Planes
Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV) is reportedly in talks with Boeing (NYSE:BA) and aircraft lessors to acquire as many as 30 737 MAX jets that no longer have their original buyers. The 737 MAX has been grounded since March 2019 after a pair of fatal accidents, and during the grounding, Boeing has assembled more than 400 airframes that it has been unable to deliver.
