American Airlines And United Fly More Cargo Flights Than Long-Haul Passenger Services
Across United’s intercontinental network, cargo-only flights outnumber passenger services. Over the next week, United plans 42 international long-haul passenger flights, but 95 cargo-only services, according to its schedules. (www.forbes.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Boxes always pay better than people..
if you have followed any news reports,in order to accommodate cargo and use aircraft for that purpose, many airlines across the board are taking select large planes and taking out all of the seats and passenger type areas, with just basic bare floors and windows..they have to do something to keep the money coming in until passengers decide they are not afraid to fly..
American is not taking out seats...Cargo is loaded in the belly.
in some aircraft removing the seats requires rewiring the entertainment systems. it would be easier to just remove the wings.
The great thing about cargo flying is that no one ever complains about a rough landing (personally never had one of those, but I always shared legs with the F/O, so...). Nor did they complain about not having better food! And they never got drunk or disruptive!
When American put the seats back in they will add a row or two.
