Australia Lands Airbus A319 In Antarctica For Rescue Mission
Yesterday, an Airbus A319 landed in Antarctica in response to a medical emergency. The aircraft was flown by the Australian Antarctic Division to the frozen continent. (simpleflying.com) Más...I wonder if it is std procedure to keep at least 1 engine running whilst on the ground for this? Maybe at idle or other?
Reads like an advertisement for Airbus rather than a news article about an emergency flight to save a person.
They tested the limit of when aircraft can land there. Hope to God the crew didn't accidentally bring the Corona Virus with them. Or maybe it was a Corona victim that caught the disease during the normal summer resupply season.
