The wild survival story about an Air Force pilot who got his plane stuck atop Mount Rainier
The pilot landed on Mount Rainier's summit on April 12, 1951, only to become stranded when his plane wouldn't restart. After a night in the cold, he did the unthinkable, gliding his lightweight airplane off the side of the mountain. (www.seattletimes.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Did I miss something? There was no mention of which aircraft he was flying. This being an aviation site that would seem to be a good topic to cover.
The website that is quoted in the story has the details -- it was a Piper Cub:

OK thanks! Too bad the reporter could not have done research. LOL. Of course to them, all small airplanes are Piper Cubs, and all jets are Lears.
Nah, all single-engine aircraft are Cessnas... ;)
