The Strange Beauty of Airports Photographed From Above
"Do airports have personalities? If so, JFK International Airport must possess a dark and complex intelligence: Broad flats of black pavement suggest an ocean of serene thoughts, while elsewhere snaking streams of roadways hint at either mathematical genius or full-blown schizophrenia." Airports are one of the engineering and social marvels of the 20th century. I've never minded layovers because airports are such a fascinating places.
I have always found airports and air bases a fascinating place. One can look with awe at them and how they are designed and laid out for smooth operation. I guess growing up on or near air force bases and being stationed on them has an effect like that. Each is of a different design and capability whether civilian or military and they offer great opportunities for photographers to capture both on and above the ground.
This guy has shown that with such great pics.

Airports are the worlds most fascinating places. The general public has no clue as to how they function. The have an intrinsic beauty that is unique. Looking at them from above only enhances their beauty. I spent almost fifty years working in and around them and I still find them awesome.
