FAA to big fliers: Leave your seat belt extenders at home
If you're a large passenger and you've been bringing your own seat belt extender to buckle yourself in on flights, the government has an order for you: Stop it. (travel.usatoday.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
There is no way to not be mean about it...Please dont hold back...Say what you mean!!!
Well said.
Does anyone know if the FAA (or anyone else) has done evacuation tests with morbidly obese people amongst the test passengers? The bigger issue I have is that these whales are going to get other people killed in an emergency.
Whales???? You obviously dont understand a bigger person's side of the story....Or have you been watching too much reality TV that portrays bigger people as out of control fast food snarfing fools???
not all of us bigger people eat like pigs or whales as you assert. You just wait, one of these days you will learn not to be so mean to one of these whales because just may become one!!!!!!!!!!

I'm up to 60 pounds of weight loss but was never morbidly obese. I was like that because, in hindsight, my diet sucked. I completely changed my lifestyle, lost 60 pounds (and counting) and am starting to lift weights.
If I can do it so can everyone else.
You are exactly right... Over weight is not a disease, or disability... It is a choice.
I hope you do well with it... Problem with a lot of people they cannot see it. I know a person who is quite OVER SIZE.. and after 3 Big Macs, 2 Large Fries, and a Refill on a Large NON-Diet drink he made the comment. I have tried to loose weight, but I can't...
I once got a call that a F/A needed 3 extra seat belt extenders.... I advised her that her a/c had all that was supposed to be there because I did the check on the interior the night before. She told me she needed 3 extra because they were carrying a weight loss group and she had run out of extenders and needed 3 more, and believe it or not one of them needed 2 Seat Belt Extenders... A sight I wish I had missed. If she would have had to use the emergency the only way she could have fit would have been by Explosive De-Compression.
I do not understand how people do this to themselves. There is not rocket science.... Just lay down the knife, fork, and spoon and control what you eat. In my opinion, if you cannot fit in a seat reasonably, then you are not safe to fly, because a crew member will have to risk their life to get you out of a bad situation, and if you get stuck in an emergency exit (like happened to United in DCA when a POS got stuck in the Emergency Exit, emergency personnel had to remove them. If this had been a real criticle situation, they would have died as well as others behind them. If they are that big... Simple... They don't fly. Not trying to mean about it, it is not safe for them, or others around them when it is criticle.
