United Flight 734 (B737) slides off snowy runway 9L at Chicago O'Hare
A United Airlines flight landing at Chicago's O’Hare International Airport slid off the runway Friday afternoon, according to the Chicago Fire Department. Fire officials said the Boeing 737 plane skidded into the snow-covered grass while landing at the airport. United Airlines confirmed United Flight 734 from San Francisco to Chicago "partially rolled" off the runway. No injuries were reported, authorities and the airline said. Opps, That's one for this storm lol. Glad everyone is okay thou. If im not mistaken this happen to another United 737 on December 30, 2015 with 164 persons on board. Plane landed just as the city was being hit by snow and it slid off the runway.
One would think that an airline based in Chicago would be a lot better at navigating on the ground.
This is true but it does happen from time to time.
Just proves Southerners are not the only ones having trouble driving in the snow

I don't know the specifics to these type accidents but can't the pilots leave the reverse thrusters on longer in icy conditions to help get the plane to a safe taxi speed?
