Lake Michigan Medical Transport Crash
One survivor rescued, search continues. (www.freep.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Not really a medical transport crash.
The aircraft was flying under a "Lifeguard" flight designation. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N82531
I don't think this was an appropriate use of the "lifeguard" callsign. This wasn't a situation that required priority. Seems like more of an angel flight type deal.
Is a C206 allowed to operate over Lake Michigan? Since it is out of gliding distance from the shore for a period of time.
It is legal- this was not a part 135 air ambulance operation, but rather a part 91 private flight. There are no overwater rules, just common sense.
