(Video) 747 cockpit, oceanic crossing procedures
What pilots do flying over the Pacific from Alaska to Asia. (www.youtube.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
This video reminds of the days with the flight engineer. These guys did not depend on GPS and satellites to make it across the pacific. :)
Capt Scott, found this video very interesting and informative. Had no idea you guys were doing all that stuff while I'm relaxing in the cabin. Also watched 2-3 of your other videos. You do a great job of explaining flying, something I've had an interest in for any years. Was able to fly some GA aircraft, including helicopters, before I retired. Now that I could afford to do it, age has become a factor.
Good one! Thanks.
If this aircraft is really N708SA as is identified in the comments at YouTube, it's last location was in the boneyard at Mojave, California. Its last flight was on 9/21/2012. See Flightaware track at http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N708SA. The FAA N number registry currently shows it as canceled/not assigned.
Terry--Published on Feb 19, 2012. So old N708 was still kicking.
Who cares how old it is, it's not about the age, it's flight planning!
I LOVE Captain Scotts videos... Looks like an oldie-but-a-goodie -200 or -300 747....
