Santa Monica Residents to Vote on Airport Land Use Issue
Airport supporters in Santa Monica can rejoice as a there is a small step in the right direction in the battle for the Santa Monica Airport (SMO), which is under threat of partial closure as soon as next summer. (www.flyingmag.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
That airport has been there since 1924 and was in full use during WWII. Complaining residents, none who didn't know the airport was there when they bought, will find sympathy from me in the dictionary somewhere between syphilis and scurvy.
In Foxworthy fashion: you might be a moron if you are concerned with air quality but you choose to live in a city with tons of vehicles, next to freeways, and next to an airport.
And drink bottled water rather than the municipal water supply that was imported from N. California. The water is frequently bottled from the local municipal supplies.
Exactly. Buy a bottle of water for convenience or thirst - practical. Buy it because you think your getting "special" water- moron. Lol
So, the voters are going to take a vote on whether they can take a vote? Oh never mind, I forgot we're talking about California. While this may take some power away from the city council, I'm afraid this may not go well for the airport supporters in the end.

Yes I'm sure that the jet fuel emissions are 1,000,000X more harmful than the emissions emanating from the thousands of vehicles in the surrounding area.
What video? The referenced story had no videos. If you look at an aerial photo of the vicinity, that largish intersection under RW21 is the intersection of Interstates 10 & 405. They might have a bit to do with the area exhaust emissions perhaps? Maybe they should shut that down too?
All that real estate, just aching for upscale lots to sell as soon as the City Council can dump the airport.
