Congressional Panel Votes to Save A-10 Warthog
Even though it's likely only a temporary reprieve, it's still good news for supporters of the A-10 Thunderbolt II as backers seek to head off the iconic tank buster's imminent retirement. A House Armed Services Committee panel has voted to delay deactivation of the A-10. (www.flyingmag.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
YES...SAVE THE HOG ...!!LOV this plane !
The Air Force still is trying to sell the non-fact that buying expensive, glamorous new toys and selling them as a "multi-role" aircraft will sell. Unfortunately for them, the Army happens to like the A-10 and what it can do for the grunts on the ground. It looks like their Congressional lobby is more persuasive than the Air Forces'...at least for the moment.
The A-10 needs to be transferred to the Army along with its component of the budget...then we can watch the Air Force clamoring to get it back.
