Boeing Forecasts Future Worlwide Pilot Shortage
Industry soothsayers are making noise again about pilot shortages. The exploding Asian Airliner markets are offering pilots pay levels long since forgotten in the U.S... Add in bonuses, benefits and housing compensation and Military pilots sticking with it as a career and you have the story. (travel.usatoday.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
This seems to come up every couple of years. Yet the crisis never arises.
Agreed. The older I get, the more I can chalk up reading that same story every two years.
When comes to getting a job if you have the type rating, and you have 500 in type and you are current then you maybe will get hired but who knows?
Haha! Remember reading the same thing last year. Still doesn't hurt my dream of eventually becoming a pilot. I am guessing the reality is regional pilot positions will continue to rise. I am still going to have a backup career just in case.
There are excellent opportunities for civilians in this country piloting in the non-standard model. The Comm/CFI-goes to regional-goes to majors has been beaten over the head senseless and is not very creative when it comes to actual career satisfaction. Jon Roberts said it best...Great Job...Lousy career. If you are mixing in the wife and family bit then so it goes. If you are dead set for the cockpit and want personal satisfaction to boot start thinking sideways.
What country are you talking about my friend.
Good ole USA..
I'm talking about a good paying career flying job. Something that pays80000-150000 a yr.
Asia for sure. If your single and have the Qualifications. China is paying a mint and will include housing, sometimes vehicle, relocation, bonuses. Unfortunately everyone and everything is going that way. Its simply where the money is.
