Airlines scrapped more than 210 flights for Wednesday -- one of the USA's busiest air travel days of the year -- all before the clock struck midnight on Tuesday. (www.usatoday.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
They have gained experience over the years and there is no need shooting yourself in the foot when you can see what is coming.
the whole passenger rights thing may also play something in these preemptive cancellations, whats the point of even trying to put a flight out if you are going to get fined for the wait.
Probably does as well as crew and equipment repo. Some cases it's just better to stay at the house if wx is looming. It's too unpredictable.
It has everything to do with it. Anyone who travels extensively doesn't mind sitting on a runway for several hours if it means we get home that night.
On the runway??? I'll wait in the terminal where I can get up and walk around or just people watch, but not in the airplane. I'll have already had that experience (thank you very much Spirit Airlines). And not interested in doing that ever again, no matter if heading home or to my favorite vacation destination.
D'oh! Can't edit my poor grammar.
Got that right one downed plane and how many dead but who would do anything about it there? Don't think that I would either fly or drive in the area. They shut down the railroads too.
