Airbus Concerned About "Adverse Impact" Over Qatar Airways Suit
Airbus’ ongoing dispute with Qatar Airways has it worried about the impact on the company’s reputation as the court cases related to the A350s drag on. The plane maker has been at loggerheads with the Middle East carrier regarding the paint issues of the A350 aircraft. And in its latest financial statement, Airbus has warned its investors about the potential impact the dispute could have on its balance sheet. Considering that Qatar grounded a bunch of their Airbus planes over the paint issue during the pandemic when they likely would have had to ground them anyway - and trying to get money damages from Airbus for it - I find Qatar's position that this is more than a cosmetic problem a bit suspect. Nevertheless, I hope they all get this row sorted.
Seems like working to fix it would have been the best way to go. To lose billions of dollars of business over such an issue is crazy. Airbus can only lose this PR issue and without customers businesses don't exist.
Airbus screwed up, they should have come up with a settlement outside of the courts.

Airbus should have done the right thing, taken responsibility, and fixed the problem in the first place. They can claim the aircraft is safe all day long, but, if I, as a pax, see a large chunk of the fuselage missing I'm not getting on that airplane.
The Airbus management's arrogant and irresponsible behavior was bound to have consequences. It put the airlines on notice that unless they write their own airframe warranty clauses into the purchase contracts, they are dealing with a manufacturer who will not guarantee and stand by their product.
The EU court is nothing but a commune of beaurocratic puppets taking orders from their individual Governments.
I am sure there are some details we the public will never know. And Airbus will never know just how much their policy of arrogance has cost them over this one little problem. Just fix the planes, stupid!
