Aeroflot wants to become the first customer of a Russian-made supersonic airliner
Moscow - Aeroflot wants to become the first customer of the new civil supersonic aircraft that Russia is planning to develop. Forty years after Tupolev 144, the Russian state-owned company is thinking again of a supersonic aircraft. (airlinerwatch.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I saw their Tupolev SST - a copy of the Concorde - crash at Le Bourget airfield.
These guys maintain their aircraft poorly...if you go, use another carrier !
I wish them success. It would be really cool if international flight times (North America to Europe, North America to Asia, Asia to Europe, etc) could be reduced to 6 hours or less. I understand the technical hurdles of designing, building and maintaining a SST, but you'd think by now, we'd have figured out how to do it cost effectively.
Preferred carrier to Russia? Finnair to St. Petersburg.
if Soviet Union didn't crash on 1991, the would have used Tu-204 instead of A321
Didn't they already try making a supersonic jet during the Cold War?
