Why not fly NW and go around Sumatra then SE to SYD?
From reading all these contributions, I have gotten to know what real tweets are. Most are seemingly inane, meaningless and off the subject. I think there should be a minimum of words to put down before it's accepted for publication. Say 50. You can do it.
Remember when the USSR did not allow overflies? That was a huge block of airspace that prevented cheap and non-stop Europe-Asia travel.
As the saying goes ... choices have consequences.
religion and culture have no place in the skies. the world is not as big as it once was. time to get with the program. Even if it means fighter escorts.
There is plenty of hatred and pettiness on both sides of the Arab/Israeli conflict. No halos on either side.
