Plane crashes into Swan River - Perth Western Australia
Australia Day fireworks cancelled in Perth after plane crashes into Swan River. No idea what he was doing there, or so low! (www.perthnow.com.au) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
The way he was gliding down and had his floats extended, I think he was trying to land. (He may have had another problem). The excessive bank to try turn away from moored/anchored boats caused a rapid drop in speed and cause it to stall.
Looks like a Gruman Albatross or Wiggin seaplane. Typical stall base to final, these types did not handle well when low and slow. Very unfortunate.
Thinking on it, may be too small for a Albatross and I meant Widgeon seaplane. I had a friend who said it was a handfull to fly.
