Storm forces cancellation of 1400 flights in Chicago
(CNN)A winter storm moving through the Great Lakes region dumped snow in the Midwest and led to the cancellation of more than 1,400 flights Sunday in Chicago. In nearby Detroit, a plane slid off a runway into the grass and snow. Parts of the nation felt the effects of the cold weather on Sunday, as another arctic blast is expected to hit just about half the country this week. (www.cnn.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Jerry Brown is trying that with San Francisco to Los Angeles high speed rail. You can look at how well that is going, it's well documented the Internet available sources.
How would a Phoenix - Flagstaff high speed rail line pencil out economically?

And take the private airport in Paulden by eminent domain!

A "LEGIT" aviator could do a simple search on Flightaware and find:
http://flightaware.com/resources/airport/AZ27/summary
In fact, even the non-legitimate unwashed hoi and poloi could do so as well.
Skyvector.com lists it as (Pvt)/ Big Springs/ 4421-42 and is their database:
https://skyvector.com/airport/AZ27/Big-Springs-Ranch-Airport
In a previous post you mentioned that this one was privately owned, and required prior permission to use. In that epistle you referred to it as an airport, or to you your current terminology airPORT.
If you are curious about the Big Springs Ranch Airport, look out your front door.
Anyway, I may be waay off base, but I think that is what wingbolt meant.

Just suppose the amount of public money that is used to support the commercial airlines, was instead used to develop European/Japanese/Chinese style mass rail transportation....who has some thoughts about the advantages and disadvantages..?
Or, to put it more simply - how did the idea get going that there is some kind of "right" to bargin-priced airline transport at MY expense ( I am an American taxpayer....!)
