DOT bans all Samsung Galaxy Note7 phones from airplanes
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), today announced it is issuing an emergency order to ban all Samsung Galaxy Note7 smartphone devices from air transportation in the United States. Individuals who own or possess a Samsung Galaxy Note7 device may not transport the device on their person, in carry-on baggage, or in checked baggage on flights to, from, or… (www.transportation.gov) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I was to have been in Iceland when this ban was put in place. What would I have done with my Note 7? As it happens, I didn't face that problem but I'm sure many travelers are. Do they just leave their Note 7 behind? How do they then get a replacement? I'm sure Samsung didn't have "replacement kiosks" in every airport in the world when this ban was announced. And even if your A/P has one, how many travelers would be aware they have to arrive extra early to exchange their phone?
Im wondering why the DOT waited till now to ban them...this ban should have been implemented months ago when they first started catching fire..Here's hoping more of these "Samsung airport replacement booths" pop up at airports all over.

It will only cause people to put their phones in checked baggage...causing a cargo fire. Not the smartest thing the DOT has done.
It's banned from checked luggage also. Doesn't mean people won't try.
yep.... happy not to be flying until next June
Team iPhone who the hell buying galaxy
As for the phones...CRUSH 'EM
