Man Arrested After United Airlines Flight From Rome To Chicago Diverted
The flight, UA971, touched down on Saturday to “offload” the disruptive passenger. However, as the flight crew had exceeded the number of hours they were permitted to work, the 269 passengers and 14 crew members had to wait until Sunday to continue their journey. United does it again. Seems like every week they have trouble putting their passengers up in hotels after a non-scheduled landing for whatever reason.
Maybe United will have to start carrying air mattresses and sleeping bags for use on diversions.
Too bad this clown didn't wait a little longer and they could have landed at Goose...warm barracks and close for a relief crew to be flown in. Even better, undoubtedly the RCMP would be glad to lock this guy up for a while and then let him try to find a flight out to get to Chicago.

Anyone who disrupts a flight and causes a diversion should be put on a no-fly list, even if it isn't an official government one. The airlines need to cooperate and keep these bozos off their planes, it will save them money and keep their customers happy.
With the difference that this time the passengers were "calm and understanding", not demanding to be put in non-existing hotels like in the Goose Bay incident.
