Pilot dead after cargo plane crashes heading from Centennial to DIA
The pilot of a small, twin-engine cargo plane died after crashing about 10 feet from a home near Centennial Airport shortly after takeoff on Tuesday morning. The Centennial-based Key Lime Air Cessna 404 was empty and traveling to the Denver International Airport on a repositioning flight when it crashed in home's front yard. YEs, Denver International Airport's ICAO code is KDEN; however anyone form Denver knows it is locally referred to as DIA.
Carb ice?
Given the fact it doesn't have a carb as its fuel injected probably not.
Not knowing if it was carbureted or not I used the term loosely... However, fuel injection systems can will suffer from induction icing just like a carb... With the same end result...
Maybe we can suspect icing. This is so sad.
Can we suspect icing?
