Skydiver jumps into stratosphere 24 miles over New Mexico
An Austrian daredevil leapt into the stratosphere from a balloon hovering near the edge of space 24 miles (38 km) above Earth on Sunday, breaking as many as three world records including the highest skydive ever, project sponsors said. (www.msnbc.msn.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I think he should have had two parachutes; One for him and one for his testicles.
one for EACH ball.
You're really getting excited now I see...
No shame in lust!
He broke 3 world records: highest parachute jump, highest manned balloon flight, fastest free-fall. He was about 15 seconds from breaking the record for the longest free-fall, but his visor was fogging so he popped the chute rather than risk hitting the ground. The data gathered during his free-fall can help scientists learn how to recover astronauts during emergencies and for other purposes.
he never could hit the ground as he was fitted with an automatic chute-release to be activated at a certain altitude (to prevent he would hit the ground when he was out of control due to spinning, or when he was unconscious)
That's presuming it worked. Everything had gone well to that point, but I'd still rather pop my own chute than try to rely on an emergency chute.
