Delta Reroutes Flights As Solar Storm Hits Earth
Delta Air Lines Inc. said Tuesday that it was rerouting some transpolar flights between Asia and the U.S. to avoid the impact of the largest solar storm in almost a decade. The Atlanta-based carrier said some flights to Detroit and Minneapolis-St Paul from Hong Kong, Shanghai and Seoul took a more southerly routing on overnight flights, though a spokesman said planes flew faster to keep schedules intact. I checked all Tuesdays flights from DTW to MSP on Delta and they all took a more North route...
In the UK they run "Northern Lights Tours" on a big round trip way up and back again to 55N..very popular. Of course most times they see nuttin...LOL.
It is far easier to route a few flights to the south than answer public misinformation and have to then listen to the lawyers trolling for "victims" (real or imagined) at 1-800-RAD-E8TE.
