Airlines Cut Small Jets as Fuel Prices Soar
Planes to smaller cities are now starting to be phased out (abcnews.go.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Seeing as regionals operate more than half of the flights in the United States, I don't understand how that will change anytime soon.
Let the whining begin...or continue. To many of these folks subsidies are the answer and especially subsidies from the Federal government which are less personal to the local voter. We all know politicians get themselves re-elected on taxpayers' money, recycling a portion of the earnings of the productive. The concept of "Free Money" arises here.
On the other hand the bills have to be paid by the airlines. The numbers in the article are silly as they are making the assumption that all 160 seats of an MD are full in a 20 seat market.

I trust you are also including all those no bid contracts the government issued during the Afghan and Iraqi wars.

Yes, but at least waste none the less that has to be blamed on the previous administration.
Maybe it is also time to stop subsidizing all of the oil companies because of their exorbitant profits.
...no problem with that. Or corn or a multitude of other subsidies. Mostly we need to stop subsidizing government waste.
