Video of a powerbank thermal runaway on airplane in China and successful cool down
A China Southern Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration B-2009 performing flight CZ-3539 from Guangzhou to Shanghai Hongqiao (China), was boarding for departure. THERE IS an extinguisher in the cockpit. somebody needs to giddy-up to the cockpit, grab the red cannister with the exhaust spout, and return to the fire, spray the area , stop the fire, and sit down and cool off. Bet every airline has a better idea today about the need for several fire extinguishers on every aircraft.

They may have not been taught to dowse the fire that way but was the quickest way to get the fire out. Faster than going to cockpit.
Fire extinguishers in the galleys both have Halon1211. Dowsing it with water is not how you extinguish an Li ion fire. Best is dry chem.
Oh well, it worked. We don't know what further action was taken. Success is 100% of curing a problem.
