DC-3 Crash In North East Ohio
Crash of a DC-3 Following take off killing crew of two. The crash occurred in Wayne County 60 miles south of Cleveland, after striking a utility pole. The plane may have had engine issues. (www.google.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
So sad - prayers for the families of what I imagine are young pilots earning time with risk they shouldn't have had to take.
you see the dc 3 at air shows and occasionally parked at various airports..how sad for the families of these pilots..rip..let us hope there are no other incidents or accidents anytime soon...
Thhis particular DC-3 was modified in South Africa with P&W PT-6 turbines.
I believe that this air strip is home of Priority Air, a small cargo carrier.
I didn't even know there was a turboprop version of the DC-3 until this. Very sad. The pilot was also the manager of the airport (OH22) the plane was based at.
There are several different turbine conversions, the most popular is done by Basler in Oshkosh.
