Allegiant Air Is Building an ‘Airline Resort’ in Florida
Allegiant, the Las Vegas-based low-cost carrier, is making an unusual move for an airline: it’s building a hotel and condo complex in Florida. The resort—called Sunseeker—is slated to open in 2020. The airline’s plan is to bring its passengers to a wholly-owned and operated resort complex in Port Charlotte near Punta Gorda airport (PGD) just outside of Ft. Myers. Hope it’s better then their airline service.
You got to recognize it’s a no frills airline with very little service outside of a cheap fare and a departure and arrival location that’s convienient to some. Has worked so far. Those same people may buy into the resort also if it is equally economically priced when coupled with airfare. Who knows??
You also have to understand that Allegiant used to be valujet.
Yes, I realize that. I also try and avoid ALL airlines as much as possible for many reasons. That said, most seem to be doing well.
Ya never know. It might work.
