Delta CEO Defends Removing NRA Discount

My thought has always been that the CEO of any publicly traded company that alienates half their customers by getting involved in a highly politically charged issue is doing their stockholders a disservice and therefore doing a lousy job. Delta is not going to change the second amendment or the supporters of it. Certainly not gonna hurt the NRA; only the stockholders and possibly Delta’s bottom line.
13 NRA members have used the discount since it was offered. So, using your math, Delta only has 26 customers!
Not what I was talking about. Nothing to do with NRA. The country is fairly equally divided on gun issues. I also didn’t say they would lose half their customers. I said they could alienate half. So they might still fly with DAL but not agree politically.
half of their customers? Oh please! This won't hurt delta one bit. In fact, it'll probably help them.
Guess you didn’t hear they may lose $4 mil in subsidies.
That should read $40 million in the form of tax holiday on aviation fuel.
Thx John. You are always right on.
