FLORIDA :: Federal agent fires weapon accidentally at checkpoint
"A federal officer accidentally shot his left foot late this morning in Orlando International Airport’s busy passenger lobby near the Hyatt hotel, startling scores of people who were nearby." http://aviation.globalincidentmap.com/eventdetail.php?ID=22930 (www.orlandosentinel.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Now isn't that the best lesson in stupidity. Taking a firearm on vacation, a customs and immigration officer, off duty and out of uniform. I guess he feels safe and important with his gun while the rest of us laypeople just sit back and shake our heads. Orlando no less and hety, not many kids in that airport this time of year. Idiot!
They misspelled "negligently".
Happens all the time, especially with automatic pistols. One of my brothers patrolmen shot himself in the ass w/ a 45 auto in the station while trying to unholster it to put in safety cubicle. Lol
So why can't they leave the chamber empty which would preclude any dumbass mishandling of the firearm?
You can't chamber a round with one hand.
Unfortunately, it would also render their firearm fairly useless.
I stated leave the chamber empty, not the magazine!
Wait, hold up bad guy, let me work the action and chamber a round...
In an airline terminal? If it takes longer than blink of an eye to pull back the slide you should not have a gun, but you miss the point here! The way he was dressed just put a target on him if he had brandished the gun in your scenario?
