Australia’s domestic jet age began 50 years ago today
Today marks the 50th anniversary of Australia's first domestic jet flights, with Boeing 727s operated by Ansett and TAA commencing services between Sydney and Melbourne. (www.ausbt.com.au) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I always thought the DC9 was the jet aircraft that first began Australian domestic services? Just like the story describes, both airlines had theirs on the ramp at the same time. I loved those funky rear air stairs. The B717 we have now give me a nostalgia kick when I see them fly over. They're incredibly quiet inside too, but no more air stairs instead just an emergency chute after the tail cone falls off!
