(Video) Unmanned parked aircraft takes off in high winds
Short but amazing video and a good reminder to use tie-downs. (www.youtube.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I never thought there would be a need to tie down a 747... Until now.
It's in the bone yard, no engines or other ballast. Good object lesson anyway.
Yes, a real nice subject to plan in such cases.
One method can be to 'clip' the wings before other/any 'weights' are removed !
No, my friend joel wiley ?

It's an empty shell of a 747 with all the lift surfaces and much if the weight removed and salvaged as parts.
Give it enough wind and you've got a great video.
Earlier this week there was another video of a much lighter general aviation plane that actually took off and was then pushed backwards in the wind and crashed back to the ground off-screen.

Correct me if wrong dear friend PhotoFinish, isn't it similar to how they check the fuselage in the wind tunnel with substantial equipment ?
God thing for the wind - it has no engines.
