Area 51 officially acknowledged, mapped in newly released documents
Area 51 has long been a topic of fascination for conspiracy theorists and paranormal enthusiasts, but newly released CIA documents officially acknowledge the site and suggest that the area served a far less remarkable purpose than many had supposed. (www.cnn.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Clearly misdirection. I want to know where in the heck is Area Fifty-two!
Area 52 is right next to Area 51, the name Area 51 comes from its location on a map for property boundries. But if you are referring to the new "top secret" base, I believe it was discovered a decade ago in Utah.
For those that have loved the mystery around Area 51,I hope that you enjoy what has been released to the public. The sad part is that there is a new " Area 51 " and one that doesn't have the intrigue and mystery that has built up for many many years. As for me there won't be a lot of reading about area 51 for most of the things that went on there according to the Governmaent were testing of aircraf,RIGHT. nyway it is still interesting to me and my oh my I wish one of those spacecraft would take those dang politicans out of D.C. and replace them with some common folk.
So will tours be far behind? Didn't think so.
Ho hum. The Air Force "admitted" the existence of Area 51 years ago, they just wouldn't say what they did there. Nice to see the CIA finally caught up.
By keeping attention focused on Area 51, they probably did all kinds of things somewhere else. It's called disinformation and was used to great effect in such cases as the big fuss in Congress about the Testor's model of the "F-19 Stealth Fighter". Of course, the actual stealth fighter was the F-117 and the only thing it had in common with the modle was the colour, but the hearings deflected attention from the real design for years.

It wasnt disinformation, the F-19 was a actual design, thats why it was such a big deal.
Funny - I know the owner of Testors (Rockford Il). That was quite a scandal as he often spent time with exec's from Rockwell Aerospace, Woodward, Sundstrand and others (My fathter was in them circles). They were quite curious how Testors got it so spot on.
