Three Dead in NY Angel Flight Crash
The plane, a Piper PA 34 aircraft, went down shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, about a half-mile west of the town of Caroga, near the Royal Mountain Campsites, in woods near Route 29, Fulton County sheriff's office and the Federal Aviation Administration said. The Associated Press, quoting Sheriff Thomas Lorey, said the flight was an Angel Flight, which provide transport for sick patients in critical condition. Sad. Angel Flight are true heroes to those of us that have needed to move/bring our patients for treatment not available in their current location, often saving the life of the "passenger". They are dedicated professionals and the need for their assistance will expand exponentially as funding for sophisticated care dries up.

The dead turned out to be a veteran with cancer and his wife. So sad. My prayers are with the family.
