787 First Long Haul Flight to Europe
Not real time, but I believe this is the first true long haul flight for the 787! (flightaware.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I must be referring to a different tail than this one, but I know a brand new tail flew from KBFI-CYKA (kamloops), and then onward to EGLL. Would CYKA-EGLL be considered the first long-haul flight for this tail, despite not being a revenue flight?
Curious what they got out of such a short initial leg? There isn't much to see in CYKA. Enlighten me.

CYKA is home to Kelowna Flightcraft. They do specialized instrumentation work for Boeing. Perhaps this is a reason that they landed in Kelowna. Wish I had been there to see the Dreamliner up close and personal
Non-US airlines sometimes take delivery in Canada to reduce or avoid US taxes. Possibly the reason here. A few percent savings on $100M is a lot!!
Don't worry, the scumbag IRS will find a way to get that money...
1st 787 flight with passengers just landed 10:39pm EST
Huh??? You are a few months late mate! First passenger flight was back in October of last year!

He meant the longest, Alistair, per the sory above, or flight track
Ok, happy that you can read between the lines. I really did think he meant, "1st <meaning first, as in none other before> 787 flight with passengers just landed 10:39pm EST". Oh well:)
