CF Snowbird crashes near Kamloops during B.C. stop of cross-Canada tour
An aircraft with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds demonstration jet team has crashed in Kamloops on Sunday. Mike Trafford, who lives near the airport, Told Global News the aircraft had just taken off when something went wrong. “The plane did a barrel roll, and shortly after the barrel roll there was a spark and the pilot ejected,” he said. Looking at one video of the event, I think you can hear the bang of a compressor stall just after the takeoff, indicating that the engine had stopped. It looks like the pilot climbed for altitude to either punch out or what looks like, attempted to return to the airport but the aircraft stalled in the turn. Both ejection seats fired, but full chute opening did not occur.
In the video, looks like 2 ejections, low to the ground.

And stories indicate the pilot is injured, and the passenger did not survive.

Jen succumbed to the injuries she received. Pilot may not have survived either save the house roof cushioning his impact.
Photos showing that the pilot did indeed eject and landed on the roof of a house.

There is a video too now, it shows the pilot ejecting. Unconfirmed reports he injured his back.
The RCAF confirmed that one member of the Snowbird team died in the crash, another is seriously injured.
