Austrian Airlines uses an autonomous drone for airframe inspection
Vienna, Austria - Austrian Airlines inspects the airframes of its Airbus planes with an autonomous drone for structural damage. Drones are a big problem for airports and airlines, but a European carrier uses it for a good reason. Austrian Airlines is examining the exterior of its Airbus planes for structural deterioration via a drone developed by French startup Donecle. If the technology can reduce time planes are out of service, and it's accurate, then you have a winning product.
It used to be that something a year old wasn’t old fashioned yet.
It's all about money guys, not technology!
This has been around for over a year or so.. author writes like it is newest tech.. am guessing they were late to jump on the band wagon. Cool tech none the less.
