3D Printed Aircraft Might Fly Sooner Than You Think
The aviation industry constantly searches for new ways to innovate its manufacturing processes. With the rise of 3D printing, how can 3d printing be integrated into aircraft? Can we see fully 3D printed aircraft flying anytime soon? (aeroxplorer.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Some Parts yes... I had one part for my plane that was made out of"Unobtainum"... A Friend had a 3D file for the part. Sent it to get it printed and it works great.. Better and more heavy duty than the original.
Parts Yes.. Full A/C.. NO WAY!
So it was a certified aircraft part you replaced? Dont think you are qualified to figure out if its better than the original part. Printing part randomly is not a good thing for many reasons.
Under the aging A/C program, the owner can substitute a suitable part under FAA Part 91. A friend had a CAD program and he made one for his a/c, he sent the file to me and I sent it to a company to make it and it is a lot stronger, more doable, and the same size as the original.
