Flights Resume In Hong Kong After Two Days Of Chaos

Enviado

After two days of blocking check-ins at the world’s eighth busiest airport, the Hong Kongese protesters and their supporters were pushed out of the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), also known as Chek Lap Kok Airport, by authorities. The airport demonstrations mark the most recent countermeasure in an 8-week long protest that has amassed a following of over 2 million people. Passengers are now required to show a valid boarding pass before entering the terminal buildings at HKG. (airwaysmag.com) Más...

It is interesting the authorities waited as long as they did for HKG is a relatively easy site that can be blocked off as access is limited to only about three points. The MTR has a station just before the airport and most vehicle traffic is funneled through one highway from the mainland. Manyt airport personnel live in the high rise city on the island approaches.
The ferry service from the airport to Shenzhen would be easy to filter.
