MC-21-300 commercial airliner has completed maiden flight
On 28 May, 2017, the maiden flight of MC-21-300 commercial aircraft took place at the airfield of Irkutsk Aviation Plant, the affiliate of Irkut Corporation (a UAC member). The duration of the flight was 30 minutes at the altitude of 1000 meters, at the speed of 300 km/hour. The flight plan included checking of in-flight stability and controllability, and also the controllability of the power plant. (mc21eng.irkut.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]

"There's a MIG on your tail, there's a MIG on your tail!"
Da...iz goood
What is interesting is,the airframe itself is all built in-house...UAC even makes airframe pieces for Airbus..also be interesting to see how those PD-14 engines stack up
The most interesting part for me is how composite wings end up working. PD-14 finished "second stage" of testing recently and got permission to be tested on MC-21, should be flying on it next year.
Where an 1980's designed A320 hull is wider than a 1955-designed 737 hull, this one is again wider than the A320. Plus flying with a much lower cabin altitude.
