Only 8 for now, how many 787s came out of the South Carolina Plant they want to close? (Coincidences eh...)
- It's NOT just the 787s final assembled at Charleston. In case you didnt know, ALL the rear (tail section) composite barrels were fabricated at Charleston, even those final assembled at Everett. That's why you can obseerve certain Dreamlifters constantly shuttling those barrels from CHS to PAE (to build 787-9 s (mostly)
"The faulty production occurred at the manufacturer's South Carolina facilities"
I saw no mention of the same problem in the other assembly plant, but I suppose a lot more planes are impacted.

There are clearly some systemic problems at Boeing, The whole company structure, culture and management,as well as SOP's need to be investigated. With the 737-Max and now 787 under a cloud of doubt the entire operation should be halted until some tangible fixes are applied.
