My heart goes out to the family, but again as usual awards for aircraft accidents are for some reason way out of line compared to other accidents.
When your loved one dies 2 million doesnt really fill the place.
No amount of money can bring back someone who has died who was loved. Lives don't have prices, material items do. Money can pay bills but it can't mend pain-stricken hearts over the loss of family member.
After reading the transcripts of this accident, I am amazed at how this crash could have happened despite some confusion caused by airport construction. Wouldn't a compass heading of 260 be the first clue that you're not on Runway 22? Or are crews not required to confirm what direction their aircraft is facing in the dark, on an unlit runway? These pilots were an embarrassment to the industry.
