Baltimore airport officials find another rocket launcher, the second this week
Finding one rocket launcher in someone's luggage is unusual for security officials, but two in one week is unheard-of. Early Thursday, agents at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport found their second device of the week, according to the Maryland fire marshal, who said it was "empty of any explosive hazard and was inspected by the U.S. military for safety." There is no weapon in that weapon. There was a time when you could by these things in army surplus stores.
Judging from my fathers collection of WWII memorabilia, and of that of my own military experience, I'd suggest the souvenir thing isn't so unusual for a combat vet to acquire. At least, *wasn't*. However, in view of the current social environment I certainly wouldn't recommend attempting to sneak anything past TSA checkpoints.
Since Ordinance is part of Aberdeen Prooving Grounds, perhaps these launchers would be sent there for safe keeping.
Maybe they fell for that BS about rats and vermin and wanted more firepower.
