ZERO TOLERANCE - fire him on the spot
Lets see how that sucker tries to get out of this one... No reason or Toleration for this in our industry, and when crap like this hits the news, it hurts us all... Not just Delta... Hope he is never allowed to fly again.... Even an Ultra Light! No Respect!
Need to research why this ended with the pilot already on the plane. Folks with this sort of drinking problem rarely can hide it. If it was a one time incident, the pilot still should have called in sick. No excuse.
Good question.... Just a guess would be he made it to the Cockpit and the FO recognized the problem before it was too late, and did something about it... or maybe a Flight Attendant or both! To me, him getting this far would have been someone close to his proximity. It is good that the plane did not get off the gate... Where some safe guards may have failed... Apparently 1 of them did not.
Oh " give him a chance Al " Ref : Movie " Always " Firebomber Pilot played by Big John Goodman .
Even Pilot Schroeder deserves a shot at ,,,, well , another shot !
