TSA: Man checked missile launcher in luggage at BWI
Federal officials say they've found a missile launcher in a man's luggage at the airport in Baltimore. The Transportation Security Administration said in a statement that the military grade weapon was located in the man's checked luggage at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. It's only the throw away tube that packages the missile. It's not the aiming or guidance unit. There's no missile. If you had a missile this couldn't launch it. If you had the sight and guidance you'd still have no missile. This is a missile launcher like a magazine is a machine gun.
Right. And is why they claimed 'non-operational'. It had the name of the weapon on the tube which was the only cool thing about it.
at least the tsa agents were doing their job..after all, that is the purpose of doing the x ray on checked luggage..the man obviously used poor judgement or just didnt realize that sort of "souvenier" isnt allowed...
Was there ammunition for the device in his possession as well?
Apparently not. It was just the launcher.
Just a nice Souvenir that is not recommend for carry on luggage... LOL!
