Air Peace plane overshoots runway at Port Harcourt airport (737-500)
An airline, Air Peace, on Saturday reportedly overshot the runway and skidded into the bush at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa in Rivers State. In 1972 a Nigerian Airways F28 did the same thing at Port Harcourt but was pretty badly damaged. I have photos.

Interesting that he didn't run off the end of the runway -- that's what I had expected. The article from the squawk even says the plane overshot. But this photo shows that the plane veered off the side of the runway.

I have photos somewhere of this accident as the plane ended up right next to the airport road at the north end of the runway. Funny part was they didn't want it photographed, so they "covered up" the livery. But they did it by taping brown paper over the name and the large green "N" on the tail - IN THE SHAPE of the letters and words. So you could still read it.
Funny thing is this accident is not found in any of the reporting on airliner accidents - at least I've not been able to find any, and I occasionally search for it. It was non-fatal.
The plane was written off in 1987 in a non-fatal landing accident at Ilorin, Nigeria during a training flight overrun due to cockpit error.
