@ABDULLAH, it not the moving the seat, that is the problem, it is what happened afterwards, and the fact that the aircraft lost 7,000 feet of altitude, the co-pilot did not know how to get his aircraft under control, and the fact that it could have been way worse than it ended up being. DONT FORGET you are a part of that pathetic human race. what an a**hole to put all of us in the same boat.

@Drew, well said...
what i meant was that the crash was caused by something so minor such as the adjustement of a seat
and i am aware that i am a human.
And if you want to label me as an a**hole for claiming that the human race is very pathetic and far more vulnerable than it seems, then so be it...

@ ABDULLAH no crash here budday, just lost 7,000 ft. i actually agree with both of you. it was just a seat movement, but look at what happened

and how does a no matter what the age is FO not know how to correct his airplane in a dive? throttles back, slow it down, wings level, just like that 152 you used to fly years ago. back to the basics of correction and aviation problem solving....whats the word im looking for....PILOTAGE

i believe any inputs into the yoke disengage the AP

well then, maybe the pilots should have to push a button or flip a handle. sound too easy to disengage the AP.

All here need to read about Eastern Airlines Flight 401 that went down into the swamps of the Florida Everglades in '72 just due to such pilot error. Google it!!!

Wow I can see none of you fly the 737. TTail was on the right track. In India they have a very large shortage of pilots. The preliminary information on this issue is the Co-pilot did not know how to right the aircraft. That IS the scariest part. If the autopilot is kicked off on a 737 (which maintains a trimmed state while engaged) it will continue to fly basically in the same direction and at the same altitude if undisturbed. The proper fixes would have been to hit the autopilot on lever/button (depending on model) or basic hand flying. With this issue I think you may find over time to be a pilot proficiency issue, but they still have to investigate. Until the findings we are all arm-chairing.

the a/p is to be disconnected by a force of a high amount, so the pilot can take control of the plane as quickly as possible if they happen to get in a situation where they need to act superbly fast (e.g they find a truck in front of them at FL350 or something) It would be a waste of time to reach over to the glare-shield and flick the switch.
