Hero QF32 pilot who saved 440 passengers when engine exploded in mid-air reveals how "picture-book day" turned to terror
A hero Qantas pilot who saved 440 passengers when his superjumbo's engine exploded in mid-air has revealed how a "picture-book" day turned to terror. Captain Richard de Crespigny was about to turn off the seatbelt sign on Flight QF32 when he heard a "relatively small" boom just four minutes after takeoff. A second later, he heard an enormous boom that was unlike anything he'd ever heard before - and suddenly found himself in a life-or-death emergency. (www.mirror.co.uk) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I hate to be impolite, but haven't we covered this? Did he write a SECOND book about the incident?
Kind of - https://qf32.aero/2018/08/31/finally-fly-is-airborne/
Old news. Happened years ago and a book QF32 was written at the time. A great read. The plane was almost uncontrollable after the incident as some of the control inputs were lost and fuel was spewing out the wing. The plane has since been repaired and returned to service.
It was not almost uncontrollable as the autopilot was working fine as far as I remember from his book.
Old News....But very interesting tho, glad the plane is all ok now. I enjoy seeing video's from before I joined Flightware
Я изумлен.Very impressed.
He has written another book.
